The Gourmet Slow Cooker: Simple and Sophisticated Meals from Around the World

This unique, adventurous crock pot cookbook brings an upscale approach to this new-old phenomenon, using fresh ingredients in imaginative recipes that you can create all during a day’s work. Focusing on traditional one-pot meals from various cultures, recipes such as Apricot Chicken from India, MolĂ© Poblano from Mexico, Neopolitan Truffle Risotto from Italy, and Boston Baked Beans from the United States are delicious meals truly fit to serve guests. This crock pot cookbook is a breath of fresh air, and is one of my favorites.

My absolute favorite recipe in this slow cooker cookbook is from the Italy section, the Italian Pot Roast – it's the dish featured on the front cover too! It would seem that pot roast is a big favorite in Italy, just as it is in North America – a cut of beef stewed in a hearty red wine and tomato sauce. In fact, as with many wonderful pot roast crock pot recipes, the longer you cook it, the better it gets, as the meat begins to fall away from the bone and meld into the sauce. It's delicious served over polenta or a creamy mash... you have just got to try it!
