Garlic Herb Roast of Pork | Slow Cooker Roast Pork

If you are anything like me, when on vacation I love to have a look around the kitchen gadget shops... years ago, I stumbled across one of my favorite gadgets - the humble Fat Separator I use this little strainer jug to make gravy for all my slow cooker roast meals - when you can so easily remove the fat from the cooking liquid, why wouldn't you!

Seasoned, well flavored roasted pork is so delicious and easy - it seems such a shame to not serve it this way occasionally.  Especially when it even almost makes it's own tasty gravy.
Slow cooker roast pork is always so soft and tender too - love it done this way!

Garlic Herb Roast of Pork | Slow Cooker Roast Pork

1 Tbsp Lemon Herb Seasoning
(or replace Lemon Herb Seasoning with 1 Tsp each of Salt, Thyme, grated lemon peel; 1/2 Tsp Sage,  1/4 Tsp Ground cloves)

4-5 Lbs Pork roast, boneless or bone-in (same shape as slow cooker)
4 Large cloves garlic, quartered

To thicken juices to make a gravy
2 Tbsp Water, optional
2 Tbsp Cornstarch, optional

  • Spray the pork roast lightly with oil and rub Lemon Herb Seasoning into roast. Make 16 tiny cuts in the roast and insert garlic pieces.
  • Place roast in slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
  • To ensure meat is cooked to perfection, insert meat thermometer into roast, internal temperature needs to be 170°F/77°C or higher before serving.
  • Remove garlic pieces and allow roast to rest 10-15 minutes before carving.
  • Strained juices may be thickened for gravy, if desired. Dissolve 2 tablespoons cornstarch in 2 tablespoons water. Stir slowly into juices until thickened in a saucepan on the stove.
Makes 8 servings.

Satay Pork Meat Balls | Slow Cooker Pork Recipes | Easy Slow Cooker Recipe

Mix and make the meat balls and the mix and pour over the sauce, cover and set to cook and when you get the crazy end of the day, the hard part of dinner is ready and waiting!

What a pleasure it is to own a slow cooker!  Especially one as smart at this one!  Its 5-quart capacity works great for medium-size families or when gathering with friends.

The easy to program control panel has two cooking modes - high, low, and keep the all important keep warm function. When the cook time ends, it automatically shifts to "warm" for up to two hours, so dinner stays hot and ready to serve without overcooking.  Oh yes, clean up is a snap too, the insert and glass lid are dishwasher safe.  Check out the rest of the DeLonghi 5 Quart's features here.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Pork | Slow Cooker Pork

I love a tender pork roast, but my favorite way to serve pork has to be Sweet and Sour Pork.  Served over buttered noodles or plain white rice, this is a family favorite from way back - especially when pineapple and or bell peppers are a plentiful and well priced!  This recipe works well with pork slices too.  If you have not yet tried cooking pork in a crock pot, next time pork is on sale at your butchery, get some and be sure to keep this recipe in mind!

Do you ever wish you could make more than one dish in your slow cooker at a time?  Do you have a big family, or entertain often and wish your slow cooker could do more?  The trio is ideal for holiday entertaining, buffet-style dinner parties, or other social occasions, this triple slow-cooker server features three 2-1/2-quart pots for cooking up anything from vegetarian chili, lentil soup, and beef stew to tuna-noodle casserole, chicken curry, and more. Three separate control knobs make it easy to independently adjust the heat from low to high or warm temperature settings for each pot. The unit's round-shaped, stoneware cooking pots can be used to cook and serve a main dish in one and two side dishes in the others, can be removed from their heating base for use as serving dishes at the dining-room table, or can be used to store leftovers, once cooled down, in the refrigerator for later, all of which means less dirty pots and pans filling the sink at the end of the day. Three serving spoons and matching glass lids with stay-cool knobs come included. Other highlights include individual spoon notches, integrated side handles on the removable pots, stay-cool integrated side handles on the heating base, a stainless-steel/black hybrid finish, and six feet that lift the serving unit up, keeping tables or counter top surfaces safe from the heat. The trio slow cooker server measures approximately 9-8/9 by 35-1/2 by 13-4/5 inches.

Just the thing for your next dinner party, family gathering or holiday entertaining - it cooks and then keeps warm - what a great idea for freeing up your oven and stove top! Very clever!

Easy Cranberry Pork Chops | Slow Cooker Pork Recipes

There are two things to take into consideration with this simple yet tasty recipe - how many are you feeding and how big is your slow cooker. If you are only feeding 4 you only need 4 chops.  If you are feeding 6 and you have a small slow cooker, think about the size of the chops, you need to get chops that will fit in maximum two layers in your slow cooker.

This is another of those wonderful recipes that you can prepare the night before in a crock pot liner bag, put in the fridge over night and then just pop the crock pot liner bag in the slow cooker and turn it on, while you're doing breakfasts, making lunches and all that other crazy stuff in the morning!  These slow cooker liners make both meal prep and clean up a breeze!  Once you've tried them, you'll not be without them.

I used the canned jellied kind of cranberry sauce, and I prefer wholegrain mustard, but you can use whatever kind of prepared mustard you have.  This recipe is perfect teamed with mashed potato and a fresh seasonal green salad.  This is sure to be a family favorite.  Enjoy!

Easy Cranberry Pork Chops

Serves 4 or 6
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours

4 or 6 pork chops
1 (16 ounce) canned cranberry sauce
1/2 cup apple juice
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp wholegrain mustard
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water

Combine cranberry sauce, juice, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and mustard until smooth; pour over chops. (Prepare to this stage when using a crock pot liner bag)
Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.
Remove chops and keep warm.
In a saucepan, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; and then gradually stir in cooking juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Season to taste. Serve over chops.
